My son in law has finally taken an interest in biblical issues and conditions of the soul. Your last two missives concerning Christian questions made him a new fan of your writing. Thank you for that. He is an active duty SEAL with 25 years service and still serving.

I have missed finding the reason you no longer write Letters to Hannah?

It's an honor to be read and enjoyed by any SEAL -- if he admires me, let him know that I admire him. Even more than this, though, it's an honor to share how good God is to all of us -- and to show it in ways that others might not have thought of. He's always a surprise. And the best stuff is all around the corner.

I stopped writing Letters to Hannah because my website wasn't getting the attention I wanted, and I needed a new platform to write on. Joke's on me: although Substack is a great place to write, I still haven't figured out how to grow my audience. It's not my forte, I guess. I rely, as always, on readers such as yourself to pass me along. So thanks for being brave enough to share me. I imagine some of the things I say would make somebody mad at the Thanksgiving table.

All the best,

-J
